Does anyone out there have any advice or anecdotes they'd like to share with parents who are facing the challenges of helping their child adjust to a new school environment, especially advice for parents of first graders? Please share it with us!

You will cry! Give yourself the time to actually sit down and let the tears flow. First grade was even harder than kindergarten but I promise you that as a mommy of a boy starting 5th grade in 2 weeks, it NEVER gets easier. You love them and then you have to let them grow and hope that they come home at the end of the day with lots of good stuff to share.
