WHen I was pregnant, I mentioned to my doctor and specialist that I planned to stay at home. Both women said, "What? You're not the kind of woman who stays at home!"

Now that I have a nearly-two-year-old, I'm wondering just what they meant. What kind of woman stays at home?

I recently asked this question of one of the stay-at-home dads in the neighbourhood. He said, "Gee, I dunno. Am I the kind of woman who stays at home?"
