» melissac64 - As a stay-at-home parent what's on your secret wish list?
All stay-at-home parents have secret wish lists, which they carry with them, in the dark recesses of their minds, as they go through life. Many hope their spouses will somehow magically guess what's on their lists. But I think the best way to let your spouse know what you really want,is just to tell them. They'll probably feel privileged to know your secret desires and maybe you'll even get lucky. So what's on your secret wish list?!-- posted by melissac64

Hi Suzanne! Thanks for your feedback! Unfortunately most of the time even when Moms work outside of the home, they often have what is described as "the second shift." That is, when they get home they have their "second" job; cleaning, cooking and caring for their kids.I'm so glad you're enjoying the site and I'd love to hear about your ideas on ways that Moms can cut back on their "second shift" duties. If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to post them or better yet, start your own discussion. You can also e-mail me at stayathomeparents@suite101.com

Hi Martyne!I wonder if there are any women out there who actually enjoy cleaning the house. I must confess, I might be one of them! I'm not saying that I relish the daily grind of cleaning but there are certain times after I've thoroughly cleaned- washed the floors, polished the wood, andI've sta on the couch and looked around at the finished product, that I feel a real sense of accomplishment. I don't know- does that make me crazy?! Or a June Cleaver wannabe?!
I was wondering if you could recommend any cleaning services that perhaps you've personally used or that you've heard of, that us other parents can take advantage of. It's true- I too think sticky floors are probably the worst- but it's kind of sweet when your kids, make a mess and at least they attempt to clean it up.

Girlfriend.....you are NUTS!! Sticky floors are no fun at all, no matter how sweet the child may seem. Just more work for you at the end of the day. I happen to love a clean house too, but I feel like I am forever cleaning and never feeling like it's done. that's when a cleaning person comes in to the picture. I have never used a service because it's so hard to trust them. The best idea is to ask your friends or neighbors who they can recommend. It feels like a piece of heaven to come home to a clean house that you didn't have to clean!-- posted by martyne
