Didn't I just write a blog about the Halloween decorations being put out so early this year? A blink of an eye and trick-or-treat is over. And what magically appeared the very next day?
You got it. Christmas decorations.
I'll sound like an old fogey if I say, "Back in the day, Christmas didn't start until after Thanksgiving," but the truth is, back in the day, Christmas didn't start until after Thanksgiving. There, I said it.
I do love Christmas, though, and I start to get excited when I see the pine boughs out, the red bows up, and the smell of cinnamon potpourri. My kids are already starting to mention things that they want this year. And I was almost tempted to pick up a quart of eggnog last week.
If you're looking to get an early start on Christmas, Suite 101 is ready, too.
You can find instructions for making an easy gingerbread house and your own homemade Advent wreaths.
Find some suggestions for a more down-to-earth Christmas this year. And rev up your cookie-making excitement and take charge of a neighborhood Christmas cookie exchange.
Start early, get your shopping and wrapping done ahead of time, and enjoy some Christmas punch in front of the fire.
