What would your child say to the question, "Why do we celebrate Christmas?"

I recently discovered that my three-year-old son, who remembers the gifts he received last Christmas and knows the locations of the coolest light displays in our neighborhood, had no idea whose birthday we celebrate at Christmastime. He's heard about the real meaning of Christmas, but the tangible traditions of the holiday make more sense to him than the abstract significance of Jesus' birth. So I started wondering how I could make the reason for the season more concrete. After talking with friends, I came up with several suggestions described in "The Real Meaning of Christmas." Read the article, and then post your comments on the discussion forum.
