For the Stay-at-Home-Mom who wants to keep looking good, follow these 5 simple tips for maximum effect for minimum effort.

Stay-at-Home-Moms often find that the major obstacles to maintaining a beauty regime can be time, energy and money. Women's magazines are awash with beauty tips, but these are often directed at women who seem to have time, energy and money aplenty.

Straightforward Beauty Tips for Moms

For the Stay-at-Home-Mom, however, for whom these resources may be in short supply, there are some quick, simple and cheap beauty fixes that are real morale boosters. The beauty of these tips is that they are straightforward and require items that can usually be found around the home, so there is no need to spend money on expensive beauty products.

Foot Care for Tired Moms

Few things look worse than flaky feet covered with grey, dry skin, and not caring for feet can lead to problems such as cracked heels – not great for moms who are quite literally on their feet all day. To remedy this, wash feet and gently remove dead skin with a pumice stone or foot file. Slather an inexpensive, all-purpose body lotion all over the feet, paying special attention to the heels. Pop on a pair of socks and leave on overnight for softened, refreshed feet.

Home Manicure in 5 Minutes

OK, so the days of long leisurely manicures are just a distant memory but that's no excuse for ragged, chipped, unkempt nails! A quick file and coat of clear varnish (this is less likely to cause problems with smudging if you are called away in a hurry) takes only 5 minutes but results in clean, neat nails. With a little extra time to spare, try rubbing in some almond oil, or even olive oil, into the nails before filing and allowing it to absorb.

Relieve Sore, Sleep Deprived Eyes

Every mother with a young baby or toddler knows that one of the worst symptoms of sleep deprivation is tired, heavy eyes that can often appear puffy and red. Remedy this with the oft-repeated advice of placing a slice of cucumber over each eye and relaxing for 5-10 minutes. Used, cooled teabags also works just as well. This is an old trick but it really does work and it doesn't involve spending anything on expensive beauty products!

Moms Can Have Baby Soft Skin, Too

Ideally a twice daily regimes of cleansing, toning and moisturising should be followed, even it that in itself feels like an uphill struggle. If delicate facial skin has been neglected, reach for a jar of honey, apply a layer all over the face (avoiding the eyes), and leave for 15-20 minutes, preferably whilst relaxing. The sticky sensation feels a little strange at first but bear with it, rinse off and discover who nature's finest ingredient can really help invigorate and moisturise skin.

Quick Lip Care

Keep lips soft and kissable. Don't put up with sore, peeling skin – it's just not necessary. Gently rub lips with a damp flannel or towel to remove dead, flaking skin. Apply a fine layer of Vaseline and feel the difference. Ladies, with a tip this quick, there really is no excuse for not keeping that pout perfect!

As a Stay-at-Home-Mom with so much to juggle, it can be tempting to neglect the beauty care that was routine before having children. With these tips it is possible to maintain healthy, attractive feet, skin, nails, eyes and lips without having to break the bank at the beauty counter. Go on, just five minutes a day can make all the difference to that feeling of well-being that can be sometimes elusive to a Stay-at-Home-Mom.
